Nocturnal Treasures Beckons You!

Welcome to the cryptic realm of Nocturnal Treasures! My name is Jennifer (but you can call me Jennie), and I'm the nocturnal curator bringing you treasures. I wanted to explain why and how this business came about.

Earlier this year, I decided to move back into my home. We had been living here for three years, and I was overwhelmed by the sheer amount of things surrounding me. The vision was incomplete on how I wanted the room's styles. So, with the help of my partner and offspring, organization, culling, and benevolence, bidding adieu to the superfluous. In that process, we moved my partner's crafting station into the primary bedroom. I suddenly found myself looking for storage solutions that fit my crafting station goodies and redesigning my home office. But what to decorate it with?

The daunting question lingered: What artifacts would adorn my mystical sanctuary? My style is dark bohemian. I'm ensnared by gemstone hues—amethyst, ruby, sapphire, and emerald—and my heart beats in rhythm with the textures of corduroy, silk, velvet, wicker, and jacquard. But not without lots of plants. I pine for pothos. I aim to have one of each variety in a gothic atrium-style greenhouse. And skulls, lots of skulls, an ever-present reminder of life's ephemeral dance.

I embarked on an odyssey across the digital landscapes. I sluffed through page after page on that one store that shares a name with a rainforest. I meticulously typed keyword after keyword and used the sort feature to find a section of the website that was made for me. It was also winter time, so waiting for the Halloween bliss of retail explosion that seem to only happen from September to November was too far off. I even tried looking at big-name alternative clothing stores to see what types of home goods they offered.

I'm a self-proclaimed lover of "traditional" Halloween decor. I love what major motion pictures, streaming, and television have done to bring macabre into the mainstream. I'm a sucker for trends, and I won't lie and say they won't be offered in my store. Yet, my heart yearned for something more than trends; it yearned for the quirky, the extraordinary, the statement piece that would resonate with my soul.

The quest was arduous, and coming from a data-obsessed aficionado like myself, I realized that I would die for a store that gave me access to these types of things all year round. I then proceeded to do that for two more rooms before I looked at my partner and said, "I want to start a store." Queue the data gathering, researching, and analysis. I invoked technical and educational skills from my education and career. Here we are, present day and Nocturnal Treasures is live. I'm ready to live up to our tagline; "We're more than just a home decor store; we're a portal to the extraordinary."
